Wheeler here!
Just got back from the Detroit Golf Outing, and I have to tell you…what a day!
Every year I think, “There’s no way they can top last year’s event.” And every year our chapter leaders prove me wrong.
A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors (yes, I proudly count myself among them). Thanks to the sponsors, the tournament gave away over $17,000 in prizes. And an even bigger shout-out to Parker Patrona, Nick Gibbs, Mike Neil, Cody Yoder, Chase Thornton, Kyle Frederick and the entire Detroit Chapter leadership team. Their energy, commitment, and attention to detail made this year’s outing an absolute home run…which is fitting, because I’m about to talk baseball. By the way this year’s winning foursome consisted of Kyle Frederick, Dave Reiman, Chris Stevens and Noah Bridgeman.
Honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of what our chapter leaders are doing across the country. They’re creating opportunities for members to connect, build relationships, and have a great time doing it. That’s what this organization is all about.
And here’s a reminder that not everyone takes advantage of—you don’t have to live in a chapter’s backyard to attend its events. If you’re a member, you’ve got an invitation to every chapter event, anywhere in the world. So, if work (or a little adventure) takes you somewhere new, check the calendar and come join us.
Now…baseball.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m always looking for an excuse to get to the ballpark. The Cleveland Chapter and the Milwaukee/Minneapolis Chapter are both hosting baseball outings in early September, and I’d love to see a great crowd at both. Grab your tickets, bring a customer, bring a coworker, and enjoy a great evening of networking with America’s favorite pastime in the background. Check out all the details on the Events Page.
Then we head to one of my favorite events of the year—the Chicago Chapter IMTS Reception & Dinner on September 14.
This year we’re moving to a fantastic new venue, the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile (540 N. Michigan Avenue). Every IMTS, members from all over the world gather in Chicago, and this reception has become the place to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and make the kind of industry connections that last long after the show closes.
The Chicago leadership team has put together an outstanding lineup of sponsors and another first-class event. If you’re planning to be at IMTS, don’t miss this one. Check out the sponsors, register early, and come be part of what is always one of the highlights of the year.
Until then, keep networking, keep supporting your local chapters, and keep having fun.
See you soon!
